The Chicago machines are finally here!
You see them here as they were when first delivered from the yard storage during a Michigan snow storm. Wet, cold, and some rust, but safe. After waiting an anxious 2 years, owners passing away and reluctant but anxious blood coming to the top, I was able to get them home. They include a New Haven Planer, Lodge Davis lathe, two grinders, a screw machine found at Henry Ford Museum, etc.
The top picture shows Chicago, Illinois during 1900 with horses and machine-made wagons.
This New Haven planer was in the same city during that time where horses, cowboys and Native Americans were major forces in the American world. The machine was high-tech for the 1880's despite the fact that it seems inconsequential today.

The New Haven ............................Metal Planer I purchased is finally home safe.
Saved from the Junk Yard this time, some others are from a PA
Brick mfg from........................ the 1920's. It was old then.
